Making a Difference Through Service

Our Primary Student of the Year nominee, Amelia Rolle, kept busy spreading Christmas cheer beyond our shores. After winning several toys at her church’s hoopla during the holidays, Amelia began thinking about where she could donate them. She soon realised she could send them to Jamaica. Earlier this year, Amelia had already been involved in Hurricane Melissa relief efforts through our K Kids Club, and this felt like a meaningful way to continue helping. She sent a short video message to family and friends asking if they would like to donate toys or money. In less than 24 hours, Amelia collected over 100 toys, filling a large duffle bag to the brim. Amelia personally hand-labelled each toy with a “Merry Christmas” message and used donated funds to shop for even more gifts.

We were incredibly proud of Amelia’s compassion, initiative, and commitment to service. She was a wonderful example of how one small idea could grow into something that brought joy to many
